Empezando la decoración desde el centro de la mesa
Os presento a Lianda y Richard, unos chicos holandeses que están haciendo prácticas de floristería en Galicia. Concretamente en la floristería Decoflor de Caldas de Reis (Pontevedra), quienes acogen a estudiantes extranjeros para hacer parte de la formación de arte floral.
María José González Suárez lleva 13 años dirigiendo dicha floristería con la ayuda de su hija Teresa Iglesias González, y es la tercera vez que tienen alumnos internacionales aprendiendo.
Ambos chicos están en el 2º año de la formación, y pasaron 8 semanas en Galicia, siendo formados por Mª José y Teresa.
LIANDA
Ella nació en Holanda; Egmond aan Zee.
Actualmente vive con su madre, dos hermanas y un hermano.
Le apasionan los caballos y lleva 13 años bailando profesionalmente; step, hip-hop, street-dance, ballet, etc.
Sus prioridades son su familia y amigos. Destaca por ser una chica alegre, sincera y directa.
Su sueño profesional es llegar a ser arquitecta de diseño interior, motivo por el que estudia arte floral.
¿Cómo defines tu estilo en el arte floral?
Adoro el estilo moderno con flores tropicales y un toque silvestre. Me encanta innovar.
¿Quién o qué es tu inspiración?
Las prácticas del ciclo, revistas, Internet y la naturaleza.
¿Cuáles son las diferencias entre Holanda y España?
Existe una gran diferencia en cómo se trabajan las flores en ambos países. En España, ellos trabajan todo verticalmente, a cambio en Holanda todo es horizontalmente.
¿Por qué es tan importante decorar con flores?
En una celebración, las flores transmiten felicidad, alegría y hace lucir el local.
¿Qué te aportó esta experiencia?
Muchas cosas. Tuvimos una bienvenida muy acogedora. Mª José y Teresa nos enseñaron muchísimo sobre el mundo floral, la empresa, etc. Pero también nos enseñaron Galicia, con su gastronomía. Sería maravilloso que Holanda fuera tan barato como España, y voy extrañar mucho las tapas.
RICHARD
Es un chico de 22 años, que vive en el Norte de Holanda con su familia y perro.
Le encantan los deportes, actualmente practica tenis, fútbol y juega a los dardos profesional.
Durante la semana se dedica a sus estudios de arte floral, y el fin de semana ayuda en la floristería de su familia.
Odia el estrés, le encanta la tranquilidad y disfrutar de su vida. Su lema de vida es que cada uno tiene que luchar y esforzarse para conseguir lo que se proponga.
En el futuro quiere coger la empresa de sus padres, por eso se está preparando para poder hacerlo.
¿Cómo defines tu estilo en el arte floral?
Como Lianda, un estilo moderno con flores tropicales y silvestres.
¿Quién o qué es tu inspiración?
Mis prácticas, revistas especializadas en el arte floral, Internet y la naturaleza.
¿Cuáles son las diferencias entre Holanda y España?
Sobre todo los precios, son mucho más altos en Holanda que en España. Por ejemplo aquí un centro funerario que vale 80 euros, en Holanda por lo mismo mínimo sería unos 300 euros.
¿Por qué es tan importante decorar con flores?
Porque transmiten un montón de emociones.
¿Qué te aportó esta experiencia?
La hospitalidad de la gente gallega, son muy amables y amigables. Estoy muy agradecido a Mª José, Teresa, Ramón y Rubén por todo lo que hicieron por nosotros. Voy extrañar también las clases de español de la abuela Pili, jajajaja (risa).
TERESA
Teresa tiene 30 años, estudió Comercio Internacional y arte floral.
Desde los 18 años ella ayuda a su madre en la floristería que tienen.
Colaboró en enseñar a los chicos de prácticas, Richard y Lianda.
Por el momento combina su trabajo estable de importación, con el negocio familiar en su tiempo libre, sobre todo en épocas de mucho trabajo, trabajando mano a mano con su madre.
¿Cómo defines tu estilo en el arte floral?
Mi punto fuerte son los ramos de flores, de todas las formas y tipos. Soy bastante simétrica, me gusta el estilo lineal y formas.
¿Quién o qué es tu inspiración?
Mi madre, sin duda.
¿Cuáles son las diferencias entre Holanda y España?
Creo que es más una diferencia de cultura que de estilo de trabajos. En Holanda lo normal es tener siempre flores en casa, como una necesidad básica, todo lo contrario de España. Y los precios también son muy distintos.
¿Por qué es tan importante decorar con flores?
Lo mismo que un día de fiesta ponemos las mejores ropas, nos maquillamos y nos ponemos guapos, pues los locales y sitios de fiestas también se debería de decorar, y hacerlo lucir.

LIANDA
She was born in Holland 18 years ago, and lives in Egmond aan Zee. Currently she´s living with her mother and brothers.
She is passionate about horses and she devoted 13 years of her life to dancing professionally. Her priorities are her friends and family. She considers herself cheerful, honest and straightforward.
Her dream is being an arquitect specialized in Interior Design, that´s why she´s studying Flower Art.
How would you define your style?
I love modern styles based on tropical flowers and wild bunches. I really like innovating.
What is yout source of inspiration?
Specialized magazine, internet and the nature.
Which are the main differences between Holland and Spain?
There is a big change in the way both countries work. In Spain, they layout upwards the flowers. And Holland, we work on a horizontal axis.
Why is so important to decorate with flowers?
A celebration day, flowers transmit happiness and make feast a room shine.
What kind of memories/experiences are you take home from Spain?
We had a very warm welcome. Above all Teresa and mª José taught me a great deal about the flower business and places of interest in Galicia. It could be great that Holland was as cheap an Spain. And I´m going to miss “tapas” very much.
RICHARD
He´s a 22 year-old boy that lives in Noord-Holland, with his parents, siblings and his dog Jack.
He loves sports, and practices tennis, football and plays dards.
During the week he studies Flower Art and at the weekend he helps at the family flower-shop.
He hates stress, he`s fond of peace and quiet and wants to enjoy life to the full.
In the future he would like to take over the family business, that is why he´s training for it.

The prices are much higher in Holland. Here in Spain a funeral bouquet cost 80 euros and in Holland for the same we paid 300 euros.

They transmit a lot of emotions.
What kind of memories/experiences are you take home from Spain?
The hospitalarius and welcoming character of Spanish people. They are very kind and extrovert.

TERESA
She´s a 30 year-old woman, who has quantified in International Commerce and Flower Art. Since she was 18, she has helped in the family flower shop hand in hand with her mother.
She collaborated in the project by training the interns, Lianda and Richard.
At the moment she combines an stable job in international business with overtime at the flower-shop when there is an big workload.
How would you define your style?
My strong point I think that are all type of bunches and bouquets. My style is very simple, symmetric and I love shapes.
What is yout source of inspiration?
My mother.
Which are the main differences between Holland and Spain?
I think it´s more a culture difference, because in Holland is normal to have flowers at home. And the style and prices are different of course.
Why is so important to decorate with flowers?
Flowers are a kind of ornament such us a nice dress or some make up on special days.
